7v7 Game Focus Attacking Play

Attacking Drill : Focus Playing through zones.

Objective Attacking Principles

  • Combination Play (Wall Pass, Overlaps)
  • End Product ( Cross, Shot or Penetrating Pass(Through Ball))
  • Create Space ( Make Pitch Wide and Long in Attack)

Encourage attacking team to get forward, shoot and score.

Defensive team transisition to attack. *** . ⚽

Session End 7v7 Game ( 1:2:3:1 Shape)

  • 14 Players ,SSG Pitch 
  • White and Blue Team formation : GK / 2 DF / 3 CM / 1 CF
  • White and Blue Team start same formation 

Game Start  

Game start with White GK , Whites attack blues .

All players play in position in zones, except team in possession can send : 

  •   1 extra player into middle (Possession Zone)
  •   2 extra players into final 1/3 (Attacking Zone)

If defensive team win possesion , transistion to attack no restrictions on players. If team scores or ball goes reset the drill with the opposite team play out. Offiside applies. 

Coaching Points

  • Combination Play (Wall Pass, Overlaps)
  • End Product ( Cross, Shot or Penetrating Pass(Through Ball))
  • Create Space ( Make Pitch Wide and Long in Attack)

Transition  

Remove Cones and remove restrictions on players , after 7 min , play game.

Wall Pass 10 => 6

8 to show for the ball 

8 => 9 or 8 =>10 as part of the over lap

8 and 10 constently show for the ball ,perform decoys

Wall Pass

o Receiver awareness to create space

o Quality of first pass

o Quality of touch to face the defender

o Receive behind defender

Overlap

o Distance between players

o Receiver Create space & body shape to receive

Attacking / Pinning

9 Play off the soulders of CB's ,  Pin the defender , Strong body and arms , Ready to turn with the ball.

Attacking and Shielding

o Create space as an individual to receive the ball

o Lock in defender –position your body between the defender and

the ball

o Body shape is side on (½ turn) on the 1st touch

o Keep the ball within playing distance and as far away from the

defender as possible

o Strong body and arms, with weight on second foot

Turning

o Assess and feel the position of the defender to decide if turning is

possible

o Use bodyweight to roll defender

o Execute the technique of turning by turning away from the defender

whilst continuing to screen the ball

o Use 1st touch to manipulate ball into space behind defender

o Turn either on the same side as the ball or opposite side depending on

angle of defender’s movement

o Exploit the space beyond the defender by passing, dribbling or

accelerating away from the defender
