Looking to exploit wide area for full back to get in
How we will do this
1 Midfielder will make movement inside to take wide midfield defender with him, triggers of when centre back is ready to make the pass. The movement should be realistic and quick as if he is going to recieve the pass.
2 Both forwards will try and play close together to get all 3 centre backs to be very narrow. This leaves space wider to exploit and then strikers will get into box to score off the cross.
3 Full back will make run depending on the timing of the pass from full back to centre back.
Centre back will look to play a longer pass missing out the midfield area to the full back with a longer diagonal pass. Centre back must be aware of distances and to not give himself too bigger pass to complete.
4 both central midfielders will then get forward beyond defenders to support attack
Opposite wide midfileder will make run into box and far post for any cross over hit.

Option 2
If centre backs stay wider
Build up play will be slower with the ball transfered across the back 4.
The full back will pick the ball up around the half way after our wide midfielder has taken the defender narrow.
This gives the opportunity for the full back to run at the centre back 1v1. Then there is a opportunity to feed balls down the side or into strikers.
Coaching points
Full backs pace and direction of dribble.
The strikers run between defenders allowing the pass to be played into his feet.
The angle of the centre forwards run
The weight of the pass from the full back.
The runs of both central midfielders, hopefully one getting penalty spot and one on edge for any second balls.
Opposite wide player in the box for deeper cross.

Weakness
Area to exploit
The area that will be exploited if we lose possesion is the space where our full back has left
Coaching points
Centre back moves accross to full back area . other centre back moves across opposite full back becomes furthest centre back and opposite wide player gets back to become full back

30 minute Game
Coaching points.
All of the above as well as:
Weight of pass,
timing of run into areas .
movement to create the space for others
Goalkeeper keeping up with play staying in contact with back 4.
Strikers working as a pair to create space out wide for time mates to exploit.
Objectives
To exploit wide areas and get crosses into the box.
Players getting forward and get numbers in the box and also ring the 18yard area for second balls.
Full backs overlapping and wide midfielders have licence to drift inside.
Hopefully, giving the players enough ideas to be creative and achieve to outcomes asked of them .

Reflection.
Players used:Llangynwydd 1st team
DESCRIPTION.. What happend.....
Using 20 players and 2 goalkeepers.
Session worked very well the players involved picked up the patterns and movement quickly. Full backs and midfielders really enjoyed the session as it has every player involved in build ups.
After showing demonstrations and using a question and answer approach the team did take the information on board and the objectives were achieved very quickly.
Feelings....
Before.. I knew the players mostly involved in the patterns would love the session, I wasnt sure on the others.
During... Session started very bright. Movement was game realistic. Inculding the strikers movemnets to make runs across defenders.
During the 30 minute game it was clear that they had took everything on board that I had asked of them.
After..Players realised there are several ways of exploiting wide areas. The use of unselfish runs to cretae space for others was excellent. Very good imagination and creativity as well.
EVALUATION.
Good. Players understanding from both the strikers and midfielders who rotated in making runs forward was excellent. Full backs really enjoyed the session but it was a lot of running for them.
Bad. Not a lot. Only a couple of times the defenders tried to hit too bigger diagonal passes that werent really on. Patience lacked on occasions.
Analysis... How I influenced session....
Observing palyers and thier movement. Diagonsing problems as they arose in the 30 minute game.
Vocally giving instruction and just the odd reminders of when and how to make runs..
Conclusion...
Session worked quite well.
Action Plan..
Next time we conduct this session I will get players to come up with other movements and show different patterns before the game.
Limitations..
No real limitations within the session. Players enjoyed it. Theer was a lot of work for both full backs in this system.
