Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): half pitch possession and 1v2s and 2v3s
Description
Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
SMART Target for Session
S - I want to improve my individuals ability to beat the defender and his overall intensity in game like scenarios
M- I will measure this by seeing the difference between the composure when receiving the ball at the start and then and the end.
A - My sessions are achievable as they are realistic game like scenarios where everyone is involved
R- My session is relevant to what i want to improve as it works constantly on my individual being sharp on the ball as he’ll be working against defenders, tight spaces and high intensity scenarios
T- My individual will be given a time frame of 6 whole sessions before I expect to see improvements. I will analyse them in a game to track this.

1v2
2v1 in the blues favour going right to left. This is an opportunity for the coach to work with the one remaining defender on the key points. Progression is that the 2 players attacking must complete 4 passes before shooting and it must be a first time finish.
Coaching points:
sprints, overlaps, intensity

3v2
3v2 for the reds from left to right, let this run without coaching the reds. Just make sure the opposition are realistic and your own players (the reds) adhere to the in possession principles to maintain the realism of creating and exploiting overloads. If you are on your own or use your assistant coach make sure your own blues defend correctly and aren't looking to cheat by staying high knowing the next ball is coming into the practice from the coach. Progression is that players must make an overlapping run of some sort before they can score.
Coaching points: decision making, clinical, link up play
