To progress on the arrival activity, players are encouraged for their first thought to be "Can I play into the Target Player", combinations and dribbles are secondary thoughts. If a goal is scored in less than 3 touches (combined for the team) a triple goal is awarded. To make this more achievable when a central player gets the ball to the Target Player, it is still bounced to the opposition as penetratively and quickly as possible (this is vital to maintain the integrity of the game - sell to the players that this shows how good their vision is). Now, the goal scorer must run and tag the Target Player before a rotation occurs. This temporarily creates an overload and helps promote speed in transition.
If there is high success, discuss "pressure on the ball" when defending. If there is no pressure on the ball, due to the conditions of the game the opposition will be looking to play directly. A defender can now decide whether to screen in front of the Target Player or drop into the End Zone and mark their opponent. To encourage creativity, movement and vision, if the Taget Man is marked and has created space then a second player can enter the End Zone, making a 2v1. This overload can only be maintained for 3 seconds before one of the players must re-join the central zone.
Think About;
* Body Position
* Type of Pass
* Power of Pass
* Support
Questions;
* Can I receive facing forwards?
* What can I do next to help?
Challenge;
* Can you play to your Target Player in 3 touches or less?
Individual/Team Review;
1 - A lot of the time
2 - Most of the time
3 - Some of the time
4 - Not very often
5 - Hardly ever
Players are encouraged to assess where they are on the scale linked to the challenge. They are asked to think how they can move up a level and if they need help they can discuss with the coaches. Also, as a team they discuss their personal and overall score as the team play may impact their personal score. EG; "I am at a level 3, I could move up to a level 2 if I received more through balls from my team mates".

The pitch is split into 3 zones. There is a GK at each end and the blues have a 2v1 in attack and a 3v3 in midfield. To begin, the blues must make a minimum of 1 pass in midfield before the ball can be played forward. The strikers have 6 seconds to score or the GK will restart the game. The reds must enter their final 3rd with a through ball and all midfield players may suport or recover into this area.
When the blue GK is playing out he may play directly into midfield or a midfield player is able to drop into their own end zone, unopposed until their first touch, to play out. When the reds are playing out they may also drop in to make a 3v2 if they wish. Rotate team objectives.
To progress, when the ball is played into the 2v1 a supporting & recovering midfielder may join. This can create a 3v1/2v2/3v2 depending on speed of transition. With this, when the ball is turned over the nearest player can rotate position. This allows the CB to drive out of defence.
Also, the 1 linked pass in midfield can be removed and players can play directly into the end zones. This will encourage GKs to initiate counter attacks.
Finally, the players play a scenario game of their choice.

Intro Game
The players are split into two teams and the pitch has an End Zone at each end. The game is "Target" and the aim is to get the ball to the Target Player as quickly as possible. To restart play the Target Player feeds the ball into the opposition. Target Players are encouraged to think like a CDM setting up a counter attack and are asked to play the most incisive pass possible. This will encourage quick counter attacking opportunities. Rotate Target Players every couple of minutes.
