Purposeful Play:

Create 3 fields for 3 ‘normal’ games of football or handball.
Each field represents a home that uses electricity and power.
Each field starts with a stack of ~4 cones off to the side.
Every ~2 minutes, the coach collects 1 cone from each stack.
When a field no longer has any cones in their stack, both teams move to the side of one of the active fields.
Play until all 3 fields have used up their stack of cones.

Purposeful Questions While They Are Playing - Ask Questions and Listen to Answers:

If each field represents a home, what do you think the cones could represent? What does a home use up?
What sources of energy bring power to your home?
Do we have unlimited oil, gas or coal?
What is one thing you can do to power a home more sustainably?

Purposeful Play - Use Your Imagination or Our Suggestions to Create New Ways of Playing:

Use their suggestions from the previous questions to convert one of the "Homes" to a "Sustainable Home" (through adding solar panels or using sustainable energy instead of fossil fuels in some way).
This round, each field starts with the same # of cones and the game is the same for the 2 "Fossil Fuel" fields (losing 1 cone every 2 minutes).
However the 'Sustainable Home' only loses 1 cone every 4 minutes.
Play again with the 3 different fields. Each round, the winning teams move 1 field closer to the Sustainable Field while the losing team on the Sustainable field rotates all the way down to the furthest Fossil Fuels field.
