Organisation:
Area Size: 40m width. 50-55m length.
3 marked off sections of the pitch representing 3 main areas of a pitch.
12 players.
Objectives:
-2 NEUTRAL GKS.
- Players locked into zones initially.
- Can attacking team (yellow) play from the Gk through the thirds into the next goal keeper. Each transfer is a goal. Continuous practice from end to end retaining possession.
When the defending team (red team) win the ball they can go and score in either goal. Yellow team must transition quickly to win the ball back.
Coaching points:
- Encourage width for the defenders to receive from the Gks to play forward.
- Keeper movement to create 3v1 in area.
- Midfield players movement to create angles so they can receive the ball to play forward.
- End zone/opposite zone players position in area to receive or make area as big as possible for quicker transition back the other way. ( can replicate ball being played backwards and regaining shape and make use of space.)
Progression:
Player in possession can now drive into next zone to if space to create overload. Must go back to zone once breaks down or ball transitions into far zone.
- Attacking team still have to pracitce negative transistions when the defending team regain possession .
- defending team winning the ball and still score I. Either goal is now worth 2 points each goal.
Coaching points:
-First touch out of feet to drive into space. Encourage positive play and positive decison making.
- Quick counters and reactions to negative transitions.
- Quick play and positive for defending team to go and score in either goal.
- Decision making to bounce pass or to receive, turn and play forward.

SSG:
- patient build up retaining possession looking to play forward.
- ask question of how we can make it easier to have space and to play forward. Create overloads is answer. Gives more time and space to make better decisions
- express themselves. If they have a 1v1 the to exploit that. Don’t want to restrict other areas.
