Session objectiveIn this session I aim to improve the positioning of the backs to allow controlledbuild-up from the GK when playing against three strikers.I will do this by focusing on improving the positioning of the backs for thefirst pass from the GK.
Organisation / Instructions:
3/4 pitch 9v9/10v10 + GK's
Focus on quick transition into attacking formation and supporting the ball carrier giving multiple passing options in the middle and attacking 3rd.
Ball starts with the Goal Keeper and is played out to #2 #5 or possibly #6 who drops into space to collect.
Also look for early throw forward if available into #7 or #11 to create fast attack.

Sliding Rondo (15 mins)
Organisation : Players: 5v2 / 6v2 Grid size: 20 yards x 10 yards
Instructions: Players form circle to create passing pattern.
You can stand outside the grid a foot or so but the idea is to keep the circle shape and not make the circle larger. Create 2 grids side by side.
Key Points & Objectives:
Players look to complete 4-5 passes and then play their teammates into the open grid. The group at the point all has to run into the open grid following the pass. Players do not have to run keeping the shape of a circle. Once they get into the next grid they can regain the shape of the circle and look to complete 4-5 passes again before sending ball into the open grid. The players in possession can make more than four passes in the same grid but they can’t play in the open grid before four passes are completed. You can change the number of passes and players to adjust for skill level.
High Intensity , free flowing football related warm up drill.
