Animation 1

Counter-Pressing

  • Game starts at 4v2 inside the small square
  • Once Blue wins the ball the game opens up into the bigger square and becomes 8v4
  • If Orange wins the ball in the 8v4 they play out to the 4 orange on the outside
  • Once the oranges complete this pass the drill starts back over at 4v2
  • Points are earned by completing seven passes
Coaching Points
  • In the 4v2 the 2 defenders work together to prevent being split
  • In the 8v4 the 4 defenders work together to cut the field into smaller pieces and press together to win the ball back
  • Attacking teams support at good angles and play quickly when possible
