Players - x16 (8v8)Problem 1 - Opposition in low-block
Solution 1 - Can STs pull & drag CBs out of position, towards the edge / corner of the 18 yard box. Open up space in behind for CAM to make a run towards the penalty spot. 2nd ST make run towards corner of 6 yard box, one 8 moves towards the edge of the D and acts as a 10, other 8 shuffles to stay central to cover, one FB makes opposite side run to arae between 6 & 18 yard box. This is dependant on which side ST (L or R) has pulled and dragged the CB. Other FB comes inside inline with 18 yard box but still deep to cover. GK also comes higher to sweep if transition
What If 1 - CB Stays - Both 9s overload 1 CB, FB & CM look to also overload and create, a 4v2 overlaod aginst the CB & FB
Problem 2 - Opposition press man for man
Solution 2 - Play into areas / gaps of no pressure, look to use WBs, STs make runs for near, and front posts, CAM edge of 6 yard box. Ball played to FB/WB, CM syas central and acts as an achor, ST comes across to half-space between blue CB & FB, now 2v1 with blue FB, can RED ST & WB create a give and go and get the red WB in behind. 1st ST runs for front post, 2nd runs for far post, CAM runs to penalty spot, 1 CM runs towards the D, anchor CM stays central and other WB tucks in
What If 2 - 2v1 Cant Be Created Blue CB Follows (2v2) Rest of backline shuffles across. - CAM goes towards edge of centre of 18 yard box and acts a ST, 1 CM drops and provides balance and support behind the ball, other CM drops and pulls wide in line with corner of 18 yard box and acts as a WB, WB goes touchline high & wide, like a winger and GK steps to be in a position to receiev. Look to switch through CM, GK, CM, and WB. Look to delievr a cross into the box. LS ST run far post, RS ST run front post, CAM run on Blue GK. opposite red FB that was not able to create 2v1 originally stay corner of 18 yard box. both red CMs come back inside centrally to cover and protect the middle.
