Football/Soccer Session (Beginner): Defending The 1v1 From An Angle

Description

-Players work in small groups, withtwo active players at a time. The defending will start on the white cone, witha ball, the attacker will start on the blue cone, without.

-Play starts with the defenderplaying the ball across to the attacker and going to engage.

-The attacker must seek to dribblethrough either of the white cone gates at the end, earning 1 point if it’s thenear cone gate, or 5 points if it’s the far cone gate.

-Defenders must seek to try and winthe ball quickly, and dribble past the high line.

Progressions:

-Once the players have worked ondefending coming from the left, flip it so they are working on defending comingfrom the right.
