Exercise 1: Playing out from back drill (30 mins)

Time: 30 Minutes

Set Up:

-Just over half a pitch split into two with samba goals at end.

-Split players into positions as illustrated on both sides.

Exercise:

-Play ball from back to front.

-Sequence 1: GK-CB-RB-MC-W-10-CF

-2: GK to MC-RB-CVB-W-CF-10

-3: GK-RB-CB-10-MC-W-CF

-4: GK-CB-MC-RB-CF-10-W

Key Points:

-Players movments off at angles playing 1 and two touch football.

-Body shape when playing their passes.

Progrssion:

-After 15 minutes make it competitive with spare players acting as opposition.

Exercise 2: SSG (20 mins)

Time: 20 Minutes

Set Up:

-Same pitch without split zones.

-Reds set up in 4-2-3-1

-Blue 3-2-3

Exercise:

-As previous eercise GK on red plays out from goal.

-Reds look to get up the field and score in either of the small goals.

-If blue win the ball they can counter attack. If ball goes dead restart from GK.

-Play 10 minutes and then switch players around.

Key Points:

-Application of the ideas behind the drill.

-Can the team get up the field quickly.

-Looking for the girls to retain possession and restart if a channel of progress is blocked off.
