Small Sided Game Position Game 4v4+2

Two teams of 4 with 2 outside players for each team.

Focused Skill: Receiving the ball

Main focus:

-Show offensive player which leg to play to.

- Show closet leg to play back or to a close player

- Open up hips to show farthest leg to change play possibly

- Good first touch.

-Player should show open passing lane so that offensive player can pass them the ball and also they - should recieve the ball with the farthest or closet leg depending on where they want to play either in -front, short, change of lane etc.

Game Directions:

Scoring:

1pt for steal

1 pt for width pass

2 pt for depth pass

You must pass within the grid but can only score with an outside the grid depth or width pass.

Offense- Open up for width and depth. Team with ball is offense and can score by sending pass to outside players either by width pass or depth pass.

1 player from offense will be on width and 2 for depth.

Defense- Compact trying to steal ball. Defense team also has 5 in middle of grid but when they steal they can pass to outside player which is their offense as well and then the rules of offense pertain to them as they change to offense. 1 pt for steal.

Technical points:

1. Good first touch

2. Good pass

3. Recieve ball with farthest leg as to open up play to whichever area you want to play for continous possession play.

4. Head up for vision and awareness.

5. Movement off the ball

6 Opening up create open lanes for passing

7. Compactness for closing up to steal ball

8. Good passing with great tone on pass for either width or depth pass.
