Crossing and Finishing Progression:
1) A takes diagonal touch and finishes on goal. Then B takes a diagonal touch inside and plays a 45 degree ball. Switch lines after.
2) Switch side of service.
3) Olders* add chaser to runner.
Coaching Points: Can finish laces across the goal to far post, or finish inside of the foot near post.On the cross, players need to finish near post with front foot. Why? if they let it come across body, it's more difficult and gives opportunity for defender to win the ball.
Coaches you'll need to oversee two groups.

Shooting & Finishing
Set-up: 3 groups
1) Player A dribbles and shoots on goal. Player A then runs around C to flag with balls.
2) Player B plays through ball to Player C who makes straight run to diagonal ball, to receive + finish
3) Player A plays PK ball to player B, who finishes first time. Or can player to either C or B who are running in. One runs in near post and the other runs on PK ball.
A goes to B. B goes C. C goes to A
Coaching Points
- Attempt to do everything at Game Sped
- Player B must drive ball across the face of the goal towards the flag for player (C) to attack at the back post. (C) must time his run to slide in before the ball reaches the flag
- Player (B) must NOT get into the box too early when attacking the cross from player (A)
- Player (C) must "stay alive" in the box by making a second run to receive a cross from player (A).
*Player who was most focused, worked the hardest, and best teammate will get 1 Rush Point.

1v1 Defending with Technical Warm-up.
1) Have defenders start opposite side of goal and they have to defend the shot by rounding their runs, closing down quickly and forcing them wide. Important to close down but not dive in.
* Have other grid exactly the same but mirroring so players work on defending different angles.
Coaching points: Close down quickly, low stance and and round your run. What happens if you run straight at attacker? (goal is wide open)
*Teach what goal side means!
Defenders need to be tenacious

2v2 Small Group Defense Progression
1) Passive: have two players pass the ball back and forth. The other two defending work on staggered stance and forcing attacker wide. Other defender needs to provide cover in case the first defender were to get beat. attackers are not trying to beat defenders. They just hold on to the ball for 3-4 touches. Switch Roles.
2) Live: 2v2 dribble across the line.
Coaching Points: Where do we force them? Two principles small group defense: Communication, shape (pressure-cover)
