Setup:
4 Players per playing area. Multiple playing grids with 4 players in each.
Cones to create a circular buffer that defender or attackers cannot cross
1 ball sitting on top of a cone in the centre
3 Attackers play outside the circle, and 1 defender plays inside the circle
Instruction:
The attackers score a goal by knocking the ball off the cone with their pass toward the centre cone. The defender guards the centre cone and prevents the ball from being knocked off. The player to lose possession becomes the new defender. If the ball gets knocked off, the defender stays another round.
Coaching Points:
First touch control and making a decision about the next step before receiving the ball

Setup:
10 players
Cones
Playing area with one buffer strip between 2 defending zones
Playing area 8x10 minimum size, including 2m buffer strip in middle
Instruction:
The team in possession attempts to get the ball to the opposite side to score individual points. Straight passes across gets 1 point and diagonal passes crossing the buffer zone is 2 points.
If a ball is intercepted or a bad pass is made, the player who lost possession switches into defence.
Switch defenders at regular intervals if the team maintains possession.
All players must remain in their zones and cannot cross into others, including defenders.
Progression:
Use 3 defenders, playing in 4 zones. Defenders can move into the open zone. This also creates an opportunity for attackers to move into an open zone.
Limit 2 touch to speed up game.
Coaching Points:
First touch control and first touch decision (have a plan before receiving the ball)
Create space to support
Weight of the pass to reach its target
Passing accuracy

Passing Stations (20 mins)
Setup:
10 players
5 stations, setup as in diagram (not to scale)
2 players at each station
4 minutes per station
Work for 1 minute and take a 30 second break
Station 5 is the competitive where players count their completions to see who wins. A tie has a final competitive activity selected by the group to find a winner.
Station 1:
2 players pass back and forth diagonally, working from one end to the other. Players should use right foot one way and then left foot the other way. Work for 1 minute and rest for 30 seconds. Repeat
Station 2:
2 players pass back and forth with one or two touch. The players must receive the ball and pass outside of their box, then touch one of the back cones before receiving the next pass. Box size should be about 2x2
Station 3:
One player in the receiving and dribbling box and another on the opposite end, making passes and giving instructions. The player feeding instructions or the ball, can either, just shout out a cone colour and the player in the box has to touch that cone colour. If the player passes the ball and shouts out a cone colour, the player receving has to dribble around the cone and then pass the ball back. If no colour is given with the pass, then the receiver has to pass back with a one-touch. Work for one minute and then switch roles. No rest breaks.
Station 4:
2 players pass back and forth clockwise for one minute then counter-clockwise for another minute. Work for 4 minutes. Players receive on one side of the cone with a touch pushing the ball to the other side, before passing the ball back straight down the line.
Station 5:
2 players pass back and forth with one touch on short passes and after 10 successful consecutive passes each, the players drop back into the next box. As the players pass with greater distance, they can choose to receive and pass (2-touch). If the players don't each receive 10 successful consecutive passes, they remain in that box. Players should count the number of completed cycles in 4 minutes. This is the competitive station and the team with the most completed cycles wins.
