Organization: Players are split into teams that will allow for 3-4 per group. Utilize various equipment to set out an obstacle course / relay race for players to navigate.
Description: One at a time, players will navigate the relay race and look to be the first team to get all of their balls back to their home base (net). Once the player completes the course they must run around their net and score before the next player can start.
Coaching points: Creative movement. Keeping ball close when dribbling - take your time (sometimes a bit slower can help!)
Progressions:
+start with hands only - allow players to navigate the course. Add in movement restrictions (cartwheel/somersault before starting, star jumps before getting your ball, backwards through the poles etc.)
+add in the ball needs to be dribbled back to their net (feet only)
+swap teams up and keep it fun!

Organization: 10y x 10y / 12y x 12y area based on number of players. Create 2 areas if needed (8-10 max per group).
Description: Players are looking to dribble through as many triangles as they can within 90seconds.
Coaching points: Keep your ball close, smaller touches. Head up - scan for open triangles. Can you avoid collisions & letting your ball leave the area? Can you run with your ball? Don't let your ball stop rolling.
Progressions: 1. Every time you dribble through a triangle, you must change the foot you are dribbling with. 2. Every time you dribble through a triangle, you must use a TURN to come back through the triangle before going to your next triangle. 3. Add defenders, place 1/2 players in the area who are tasked with stealing the oppositions ball. If they steal it, that player now becomes the defender.
+add in different ball manipulation exercises (outside, inside, laces, sole, skill)

Organization: Players are split into 2 teams within a 10y x 25y area and play 1v1 centrally. Additional players are positioned in the corners of the area. Create multiple areas to ensure less standing.
Description: Attackers look to dribble through ANY gate (red or blue) and find a pass to a teammate waiting in either corner. These players will swap and a new attacker will come in. If the defender wins the ball, they must also dribble through a gate and then pass out to a teammate. 1st to 10 goals wins!
Coaching points: Encourage players to keep their ball close to them when engaging 1v1. Shield the ball with body between defender and ball. Vision and decision making to decide which gate to dribble through. Quality of pass into teammate off the dribble.

Coaching Points: Dribble / Pass / Shoot / Find the free space

Organization: The gym is split into 3 stations for players to rotate between. Players are then bio-banded into 3 groups of 10-12 kids.
Description: Coaches will lead the groups through each station based on the topic they have been given for the day. Each group will spend approximately 12-15min at each station before a whistle is blown to indicate it's time to rotate.
Coaching points: Important to get the group active right away and avoid taking too much time to explain an activity.
