Skill practice - 1v1 press
Rules of the game
Attacker must take the ball past the defender and dribble through one of the wide gates (red cones)
The defender will try to win the ball and disposses the attacker
the defender and attacker will change places if the defender wins the ball
Coaching Cues
Get out to the attacker quickly to set the high press
Slow down and get in the correct position to defend when close to the attacker
Show the attacker on to their weaker foot and force them down a channel to limit the space
Pivot to maintain correct body positioning and stay facing the opponent at all times
Defend side on and jockey the opponent until the right oppotunity arises to step in and put a tackle in

4 V 4 or 3 v 3 (Numbers dependant) transistion - defending focus
Equipment
Grid width no wider than the 18 yard corridor
Small goals at each end, One the top of the 18 yard box and the other at the edge of cntre circle
Rules of the game:
4 v 4 once ball goes in the goal or out of play attackers become defenders and the 4 waiting behind the net and on the side, attacker immediately.
The opposing team then has to drop immediately and set up, ready for the counter.
