Positioning Game (20 mins)
Football Problem
Team is allowing the opposition time and space to build up out of their back third when their GK has the ball
Session Objective
In this session i aim to improve the understanding of the players to make better decisions when denying the opposition to build up from their back third
Organisation
Three teams of 4 with two Neutrals and two GKs
Pitch divided into three grids as shown in the diagram
Teams play a 5 v 3 in one of the grids and a 1 v 1 in the central zone with the objective being to build up and play the ball into the opposite grid with the help of the two Neural players
The team in possession will be rewarded with a goal if they are able to play the ball from GK to GK with the help of the two Neutrals
The team defending will be rewarded with a goal if they can win the ball and play it forward to the GK on the edge of the grid
If the ball is played across to the opposite grid, the three closest defenders must enter that grid and the remaining defender must cover in the middle zone to collectively deny the ball to be played back
Rotate teams periodicaly
Progression
The defending team will be rewarded with a goal if they can deny the ball to be played into the opposite grid for 10 seconds
They will be rewarded an extra goal if they can win the ball and play it to the GK on the edge of the grid within 10 seconds
Team Task
Defending team team must try to deny the opposition from playing the ball into the opposite grid
Team in possession try to build up and play the ball into the opposite grid

Football Problem
Team is allowing the opposition time and space to build up out of their back third when their GK has the ball
Session Objective
In this session i aim to improve the understanding of the players to make better decisions when denying the opposition to build up from their back third
Organisation
One team of 8 with a GK playing out and one team of 7 trying to deny the oppositin to build up
Target zone near the half way that must contain one player from each team
Two small goals near half way acting as targets for the team playing out
Play always starts with the Red GK
The White team try to deny the Red team time and space to build up by pressing the player on the ball and forcing the ball backwards, if the White team win the ball they have 10 seconds to attack the big goal
The Red team try to build up and score by hitting the the wide goals to earn two goals or by getting their target player in the target zone to beat their opponent for a goal
Progression
For every 30 seconds the White team denies the Red team to build up they will earn a goal

White team must try to deny the opposition time and space to build up
Red team try to build up and get the ball to one of their targets
