Using two-thirds of a field set up the practice area shown in the diagram. The practice area will be tapered inwards beyond the halfway line at one end to funnel the play centrally as the practice does not include Red fullbacks and white Wingers. Mark out an offside line in the attacking half of the field and use cones or flat markers to clearly mark out two inside channels / half-spaces.
The Practice will always begin with the Red Attackers who must build the play and create an opportunity to score. The start position of the ball should be determined by the coach depending on the pictures they want to create for their players. If the red team score a goal from a pass or run from a player in the half-space it will count as two goals. A goal scored or created from another area, such as a 1v1 in a wide area, a ball over the top or a pass centrally will count as one goal.
