Tech into Skill
Half the players in the middle with a ball dribbling and half on the outside without a ball as rebounders.
Players inside must dribble around finding space and identifying the open teammates on the outside. They must pass to them, move and receive the ball back and move to another teammate etc.
Coaching Points/Player Considerations:
1) Am I moving quickly to notice open teammates and spaces?
2) Have I arced my run to open out my body?
3) Am I receiving on the back foot to open out?
4) Have I checked my shoulder before opening out? (General Awareness of open space to move into)
5) Have I taken a positive first touch into space and accelerated from the danger?
Progressions - Becomes Skill Practise Here
1) Add a couple of defenders in the mix to create new ideas and decisions
2) Have outside players with the ball and have equal defenders to dribblers. Ask for man-to-man marking in the middle so attacker has to lose marker to recieve ball and bounce back.

4v4 Skill into SSG
Defender starts with ball and plays into attacking team. The attacking team recieve the ball and play to try and score in opposition goal. Defender who initially passed the ball is now a recovering defender to add a time pressure.
Coaching Points and Considerations:
1) Are we moving quickly to free oursevles to recieve the ball?
2) Are we aware of who is near to us when recieving the ball
3) Are we moving the ball on quickly and identifying passes/movements early?
4) Team shape - Width and Depth
5) Exploting space left by other players
Progressions Turns to SSG:
1) No more recovering defender
2) Have attacking team play the ball into the shaded central area on the pitch before scoring a goal. Looking at movement into this area, player in the area's first touch and body shape and the movement off the player in the area's touch.
3) Man marking
Simplify:
1) Remove a defender and add in a floater

Receiving Back Foot Function
1) Defender starts from back line.
2) Defender runs through one of the two gates to start function.
3) Attacker reads this and moves accordingly and opens out
4)Attacker sees direction of pressure from defender and takes first touch accordingly.
5) Top player who will recieve ball needs to move to offer support based on attacker's first touch.
