Technical Activation

Set up/Organisation/Description:

1 mannequins with 2 red cones and 2 white either side
2 feeders, 1 GK working

Instructions/Explanations:

GK moves round mannequin and sets for central volley
GK adjusts slightly to get in line with red cone and receives second volley

Coaching points/learning objectives

Technical information related to movement/ handling/ shape
Scanning for triggers to set and decelerate
Intensity of movement

Progression(s)

GK sets for central volley then receives low feed to white cone from server 2 for low dive (Repeat both sides)
Set centrally for volley then high dive at white (Repeat both sides)
Drop receive and play round to server 2 for low to middle dive
Drop and take volley then roll to second server. Get across goal for angled strike

Technical Practice

Set up/Organisation/Description:

2 central mannequins
1 CB, 1 CM in possession (Winger and Striker out of possession)
1 GK working

Instructions/Explanations:

GK supports CB on trigger and plays through to CM
CM touches round mannequins and strikes
GK moves across in line with winger for angled strike

Coaching points/learning objectives

Movement to support and get across goal
Handling/ Shotstopping decision making and technique
Weight and angle of pass
Scanning and control away from pressure

Progression(s)

Add a press to force scanning/ awareness
Play round to opposite CB then strike and move across to winger for second strike
Receive and play into full back. Ball is then crossed from wide area and 1 player can attack cross to apply pressure

Integrated Conditioned Game (Progressive Possession)

Set up/Organisation/Description:

Half pitch length with full width
Pitch split into 3 horizontal zones
Each team set up in 2-3-1

Instructions/Explanations:

Team must play through all three thirds before scoring
Ball can go from zone 1 to zone 3 if a player from zone 2 supports attack (up back through)
1 defensive player can step into midfield zone
2 attacking midfielders can support and 1 defensive midfielder can recover

Coaching points/learning objectives

Width, depth, length to make pitch big in possession
Patience with the ball, if cannot go forwards use GK to switch play to where space is
Decision to play round or through
GK support in possession- constant supporting angles
GK positioning out of possession
GK communication
Any other GK information required
