Choose whether to have players dribble through gates or pass
- can do one then the other
Lay out different colors so that players have to use their vision
CPs - Ball control, vision, communication (if passing)

Each player with a ball.
One ball on top of cone between the two players.
Partners each have a ball and compete with one another to see who can knock the ball off the cone. Each takes turns and play for a set period of time. Each knocked ball = 1 point.
Rotate after each game.
CPs: Accurate passing, toe up and heel down, pass through the ball, plant foot points in direction of pass

Can do a variety of activities in this set up. Can add as many cones as desired.
Simple pass and follow activation or technical exercise. Once ball reaches far end, receiver speed dribbles back to start (along the outside)
Variations - flighted balls, increase or decrease distance, pass/dribble/pass sequence, combinations
CPs - watch for balance, receive across body, open body shape, strike ball appropriately (pace and accuracy)

This game is also called Capture the Jewels!
Set up square grid (size according to quality of players)
Numerous balls in the middle of the grid.
On coach's call, players collect one ball at a time and bring it back to their corner. First team to X number of balls in their corner wins.
Can carry, throw, dribble, or pass depending upon the session topic.
CPs: Competition, decision-making, quick turns, scanning

Set up two grids side by side (approx 12 x 12 each --- total of 12 x 24) adjust as necessary
Plenty of available soccer balls
Six players on the outside of one grid, two defenders in the middle
Outside player look to connect 4 passes then progress to next grid as a team
If defender wins the ball, switch out with player responsible for losing the ball
Variations - one pair defends for 60 seconds while outside group looks to moves between grids as many times as possible, have one or two of six attackers play in the middle and free roam within the grid, have one player “high” at all times to allow for jock switch
CPs: speed of play, quality decision-making, transition quickly and effectively, be creative in movement

Set up as shown above with four Pugg goals back-to-back.
Grid = 30 x 25 (or similar)
Play 4v4 on the field (or however many the coach chooses)
Players score via one-touch only -- forces players to get into dangerous attacking areas (and for passers to play a quality ball)
If ball is scored = point for scoring team, both teams are off and coach calls specific number from each team to come on to play.
If ball goes out of bounds = both teams are off and coach calls specific number of players from each team to come out and play
Variations - only score in certain goals (ie: furthest away, closest, diagonal, all four), score on two or more touches, connect number of passes before going to go, play for a certain amount of time before changing players
CPs: Communication, getting into dangerous and valuable positions, connecting quality passes, utilize vision, exploit space (both attacking and defending)

Players in middle go to outside servers, call for the ball, then perform a technical action
- Return the ball to the server
- Player moves back through the box and selects another server
- Play for a set period of time (30-45 seconds)
Variations - use as a goalkeeper clinic exercise (contour, high contour, basket, scoop), include feet as well, different movement patterns to get through the box (run, shuffle, hop, backpeddle)
CPs: Be in ready position, use specific technique as needed, vision is very important (scan the area), communicate (be loud)
