Exercise replicated on both sides of field.
Player will pass the ball to the player on the opposite cone. A bounce pass will be made from the player receiving the ball and the first player will play a diagonal pass to the opposite corner. The player will then move to the initial position he made the pass to. This will continue round the square..
Progression. There will be a 2nd bounce pass added. When this is added, the player initially playing the ball will make an angled run to the middle of the square so that the ball comes from a different angle and position on the field. This will allow the initiation of opening up the play. Approx 6 players in each group
This will be replicated on both sides with numbers dependant. Appro

14-16 players within the grid shown witheither 4v3 or 4v4 depending on numbers. This is split into 2halves. Creation of 2 man overload in team attacking the big goal. Balls start from the centre - signifying ball has been played out from the back and the 3/4 now are moving forward. Aim is for the ball to be played into the 6/8 or beyond into the 10. When these players obtain the ball, the are looking for a structured build up in attack, bringing in the wide players where possible to draw the defensive team out. This will allow for a space for the 8/10/9 to run between the lines via angles to have a shot at goal. If they lose the ball, the session from Tuesday comes into play where they move back into structure to delay progression and deny possession before the team cross the ball over the centre line.

Players then split evenly into 2 groups. 2 balls less in each group than there are players. Players without a ball will be looking for a pass. Once they receive the ball, the player who has played the pass will sprint up to 15m at 100% pace to join the other group and look to receive the pass. This will continue for 4-5 minutes.
Progression - when player receives the ball, the player who passes will remain in the grid they are in - the player who receives the ball will dribble the ball at pace into the other grid. This constitutes running with the ball and provision of confidence.
Players will then move into Step 3 of Verheijen model for Short Rest Sprints - 7 x 15m sprints with 2 cycles - 10 second rest within each sprint and 30 second rest within each cycle.
