2 exercises (striker & ball possession "5 vs 3")
1. striker exercise:
Player 1 runs and hits small red cone A with his stick and receives 1st ball (from trainer or other player) to strike on goal.
In this exercise -> strike before doing any ball handling (no receiving is allowed).
After the 1st strike on goal, Player A runs to small cone B and hits it with his stick.
Player A gets a 2nd ball and strikes on goal again.
After 2nd strike on goal, Player A runs to small cone C and hits it with his stick.
Player A gets a 3rd ball and strikes on goal.
Player A will make final run to point D (clearing the pitch swiftly).
Player B will repeat the exercise.
Goal "striker exercise":
Striking more swiftly and giving defenders/keepers less time to react.
Train strike under pressure and when getting tired.
2. Ball possession 5 vs 3 (shaded area):
Right of attack, training turn around between attack and defense.
2 players in yellow will play with either blue or orange team, whom ever of these teams has ball possession they will play along.
Goal:
Attacking teams goal is to score on one of the defending team goals.
When attacking team (orange&yellow) losses ball (to blue team) the players in yellow will start to play for the blue team and try to score on the orange 2 goals on the opposite side. Whomever has ball possession, gets 2 additional players to attack.
Objectives ball possession:
- The 3 defender need to cooperate to be able to get the ball from attacking team.
- The 3 defenders need to keep spaces between them small, not allowing to let go passes through the center. Fall back with all, not just 1 or 2 players. And provide support on other side (zone defense).
- Attacking team will have to be patient and not be to eager to move to quickly to goal (with risk of losing ball).
- Attacking team will need to keep large space between them, to make it harder to defend and use triangles, speed and sidelines to play ball round without interception.
-Try to create depth when they can, assess risk, try to loose defenders and luring them to the side creating space for other players.
- be ready for ball (active posture) and scoring positions (be there before the ball gets there).
Swap teams:
Once ball need to be collected for the striker exercise you can swap either or the teams. Allowing other teams to do the striker exercise.
You can also add a 3rd team as this will be an energetic exercise when played well. 3rd team to play when one of the teams scores or after a certain time (3-5 minutes). Or swap players in yellow who will be playing for both teams in attack.
