GK session starts with crosses delivered into the box, variety of corners, progress with speed of delievery both sides.
Defending team and GKwill attempt to defend one corner by clearning the ball
(progress to clear to specific zone marked out to build concentration)
A ball from the opposite side will be played in ensuring
defensive unit concentrates to man mark, and GK gives clear instructions, can we defend with a player short, remove a player.
To make it easier or more difficult the speed of repetitions will
increase or decrease, again this will develop concentration.
Vary delivery and types of corner. Short corners etc.
Look at the following
1 / Concentrating to pick up man early
2 / Ensure everyone is ready for corner - Communication. GK
communciaction vital
3 / React to ball bouncing.
4 / Reset as soon as ball is played into either of the desired zones.
5/ React to second ball. If the ball is at far post and youre at near
post you cant switch off.
Instructions are vital in this session
Progression
-Attacking players have signals for different types of corner routines.
Defenders have to be switched on.
Short corner. Pull backs, near post far post, block the GK, how does the defensice unit react.
