Organisation
8v8 + 4 floaters on outside of practice
70x40
Players must stay in their zones allocated and the idea for both teams is to play through the zones until it reaches the centre forward zone. A midfield player can go into this zone to support the attack and attempt to score a goal. Ball restarts with GK.
Conditions: 2 touch all round the pitch
Progression: Bring 2 floaters in to make it a 9v9 match where one of them for each team goes into the attacking third.
Reduce touch limit
Mix floaters into the practice to manage work/rest ratio.

Organisation
3 seperate zones that the red team must look to play through.
3v2 in defensive zones, with floater in white on outside.
4v3 + floater in middle zone.
Area Size- 60x30
Idea is to play through the middle zone and transfer ball into opposite end zone, preferably by playing through the opposition in central areas.
Blocks
3x5 mins blocks with 3 minutes rest in between. Total 24 mins.
Feedback provided will be terminal but in between blocks so that the practice can run smoothly.
Condition: 2 touch for players in possession.
Opposition keep hold of the ball in their zone for as long as possible before the red team win it back and play restarts with floater on outside.
Swap players in between blocks in order to focus on the work/rest ratio especially defensively.
Key detail
- Speed of ball movement
- Utilising width of the area
- Body angles when receiving
- Can we look to play through our CDM at bottom of the diamond as much as possible?
- Holding space in wide areas to draw players out of position and play through them
- Utilise overloads in order to play through opposition
