Type of Practice- Function

Key Factors 8v5. Red 4 servers, 2 CM 9, 10. Blue 1GK 2 CB, 2 CM. Blues attempting to stop ball being played into zone 14. Reds receive ball off feeders alternatley and attempt to play through. 2 Blue CM screens work as a pair to Deny, Deflect and screen balls through whilst also attempting to win ball back and play into server to act as counter.

Blue CM press showing outside.Legs bent getting body inbetween ball and zone 14 to prevent any balls being played cdntrally into zone 14.

Blues trigger to press is when any forward ball is played. Neaest screen presses the ball and shows outside forcing play away from zone 14 and into wide areas.Supporting screen pivots and drops into a position behind 1st screen to block the passing line into No9/10 whislt also being able to see the opposition midfielder to be abke to press should the ball be switched. As screen shows the player outside both centre halves must mark Inside shoulder arms length in distance away.

Positioning

Key Factors Servers can now pass ball across the line of 4 players untill a pass into any red player can be spotted. Ble Screen and CB must now move in relation to the ball knowing when to press and when to drop. Information can MUST be given by GK.

2 Blue CB and CM must again screen passes and not get split. Nearest CM screen should press when ball come in from server. if 10 drops deep to create a 3v2 in midfield screens cut off pass to furtherst wide player to nullify threat and create a 2v2. Cb Narrow up one picking up 9 and the other marking space inbehinf the screen and clear up any ball that is played in. GK can communicate 9/10s movemnts to ensure always covered.

Should the ball enter zone 14 the nearest centre half must now engage and 2 screens must recover back and attempt to win the ball from the front. When ball is with wide server screens must block ball coming in as a cut back from server

GK must be on the six yard box always in line with ball.

Positioning

Key Factors Last 2/3 mins of Function, Reds can bounce ball back out to servers to create realism and keep moving the Blues around. 2 Blue screens maintain defensive principles, shwoing outside away from Zone 14 and central areas. Blues must remember that due to overload allowing the ball to go outwide and frcing play around zone 14 is what is required. Preventing the ball going through is the objective and will be achieved through good positional play.

Key Factors

Blue 9. Force play one side stop the switch of play. Blue #10 can drop deep to keep midfield compact. Blue FB to remain narrow width of the 18 yard box. FB to engage wingers and stop cental balls. When full back presses, CB nearest to ball stops a cut back into zone 14 and screens ball into 9. Furthest CB marks 9 Inside shoulder and furthest full back tucks inside line of 18 and communicates movement to the screeners. 2 blue midfield screens remain on good angle to ensure the space for the pass into the strker is limited, aim to force the play around the zine and into wide areas.
