Organization:
30x30 box
2 passers (bottom of box), 2 quarterback (inside box), 9 receivers (top of box). Both the passer and the receivers should be outside of the box.
create multiple boxes for extra players.
Instructions:
-Passer plays a ball into the quarterback and shouts out a color (blue, red, green, etc.).
-Quarterback must scan, turn with the ball, and play a pass to the color called. Then they must go find new space and open up their body position to prepare for return pass.
-Receiver plays ball back to middle, and quarterback plays the ball back to the passer.
-Cont. for 1 minute.
-As quarterback turns back all of the receivers should switch places as fast as they can to make the player in the middle have to read the field and figure out where he/she needs to pass next.
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Scan before and as ball is played to you in the middle.
- Positive touch out of feet.
- Play ball quickly.
- Passer and receivers need to communicate effectively
Regressions/Progressions:
Progression:
- Add more receivers.
- Add more passers (giving each one a pinnie, have receivers call out a color when they pass the ball into the middle.
Regression:
- make square smaller
- take away a receiver
Learning Outcomes:
Can you scan, receive the ball, and play it on quickly?
Who: players on and off the ball.
What: quality first touch and pass with quick decision making.
When: moving the ball up the field.

Why: being able to move the ball through the lines and progress the ball forward.
