We will continue to practice ball mastery foundations with the addition of new change of direction skill moves. For Kindergartens introduce an inside cut and in outside cut. For 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades introduce an L Turn/U turn. Place an emphasis on how to change direction in order to dribble out of pressure and find open space.
Introduce MVP system at the beginning of practice
-all players start with 5 MVP points at the beginning of practice
-a player will receive 1 MVP point if they are being a good listener, trying their hardest, and demonstrating a growth mindset with
what is being taught
-a layer will lose 1 MVP point if they are not listening to coach, distracting the group, and not participating in the session
-give the MVP award at the end of scrimmage to the player with the most MVP points at the end of practice.
