Describe the first danger zone (the blue zone) as the primary area we are trying to protect. Focus here is on the movement of the ball when in possession, as opposed to the defenders.
1. Red team to protect blue zone while blue team play the ball around the ground.
2. Attackers (black team) stay inside the area and try to score when the ball gets to them - can give them a time limit of 5 seconds to score once they receive it.
3. Red Team cannot enter the area to start
4. Red team also must stay on the line of the area to start - cannot press the ball
5. Show the value of moving the ball back and forth until finding a "passing lane" - introduce the understanding of this word. When a player finds a pass inside reiterate that they found a "passing lane". Also encourage the inside players to move to find "passing lanes".

Danger Zones: 1
Red Zone: Extreme Danger
Yellow Zone: High Danger
Blue Zone: Medium Danger
Rest of the Field: Low Danger
These Zones are to be explained before introducing any other concept. Players need to understand the areas for protection (defending) and direction (attacking). Using colours is a good way to explain this to younger players.
