Main Moment: BPO
Key Principle: Limit opponent's ability to create scoring changes
Football Problem: (using the 5W’s):
What: Allow the opponent to much time to shot from outside the penalty area.
Who: #GK, #2,#3,#4,#5
Where: Back 3rd
When: When we don't have the ball.
Why: Knowing when/who to close down the team in BP
Football Problem: We are not compact enough to defend the penalty area.
Session Objective: I aim to improve the teams ability to win back possession from the back with better organisation.
Team Tasks: Can you keep shape by working as a unit to win the ball back.
Players Tasks:
-Look to stay compact as a unit
-Know when to pressure the ball and when to force the player towards the sideline.
-Communication between BPO team, passing on players or when to mark the space.
-Position you body to see both the player and the ball
-Closest player to close the ball down
Coaches Cues:
-When the ball is on the other side of the park, opposite wide defender to tuck in.
-When the attacker drives toward the penalty area, closest defender to hold up the play and allow for 2nd defender.
-If the lead defender commits to a 1v1, next closest defender to close the passing options.
-If you are targeted by the BP players, can you hold the up to create an overload 2v1.
-Formation:1-4-3-3
