Organisation
- Play 8v8 plus GK's inside coned off area, which narrows towards the goal. Players are restricted to their own halves.
- No defenders allowed in 16x10 area in front of each goal. Attackers are only allowed 1 touch in this area.
- GK's must distribute into their own halves.
- Suitable for neutrals in defending half if teams struggle to play out.
- Focus coaching in the attacking halves.
Coaching Points
- Movement to lose defenders and receive the pass.
- Hold up play, side on, arm in defenders chest, use outside of the foot.
- Work on attacker positions, width and depth , always working on the angle.
- Combinations when in possession
- Shooting. Do you need to beat a player to shoot?
- How can you create space for your teammate?
- Focus the coaching on the Attackers.
- Coach the defenders if they are not defending properly
Progressions/Notes
- Add neutrals in defending half if teams struggle to play out.
- Do not create an overload by allowing a defender to join in

Organisation - 8v9 + N
- A GK, Back 4 with 2 holding Midfielders and and a #10, defend against 9 players in a 4-2-3 shape.
- Cone off the corner areas to encourage attacking centrally.
- Have a neutral target that can start attacks but also be a target when the defending teams wins possession.
- Work on attacking movements, combined movements and combination play to unbalance defenders and create penetration opportunities.
- Think Penetrating passes as well as penetrating runs with and without the ball.
- Can you create Overloads?
Coaching Points
- How can you draw defenders out of position?
- Movement to Move defenders
- Combined movements/interchange of positions.
- Attacking actions that draw defenders to cover.
- Lock defenders onto you? Make them mark you and then draw them out.
- Forward runs to exploit spaces created.
- Switches of play to create overloads and 1v1 situations - When and how?
- Draw players into wide areas with good possession, recognize the overload and switch quickly to exploit it.

Organisation - 20 Players
15v15 yd square with 10 players spread around the outside and 10 in the square with a ball
each. Players inside dribble around and look to perform a combination with the outside player. Start with the overlap, then the Wall pass and finally the take. 2 minutes each set
Coaching Points
1. Standards right from the start, everything done properly
2. Overlap – Quality first pass,change of pace, communication, timing & quality of release pass.
3. Wall pass – Use to beat a player, create angle to perform combination, quality passing, one touch wall pass into space.
4. Take over – Avoid collision, Same foot to take. Add Foot on take to take from different angles.
