Set up
- 5 lines (~4 players per line) - hope to have less down time in less, to keep them engaged
- Lined Up behind a cone
- Cones placed as per image
- One ball per line
- All players must have a small cone in their hands
Description
Each player must dribble the ball, one at a time, to the large cone and place their small cone on the neck of the large cone.
They must dribble the ball around the cone with the outside of their RIGHT foot and then pass the ball through the gate to the next player.
IF they do not pass through the gate they must go around the cone again and re-do the pass.
Once all of the players have placed their small cones on the large cone, they will dribble back and pick up their small cone one at a time, as they pick up their cone they must dribbling around the large cone with the outside of their LEFT foot and then pass the ball through the gate once again.
Once all of the players have their small cones again, they can sit down to indicate they are done!

Passing and Receiving
Organization
- Use 4 cones to create a small square in and 4 cones to create a larger square around the outside of the smaller square. Without a ball.
- Half of the players begin in the small square and half of the players begin on the outside of the big square, with a ball.
Activity
- The players inside the box begin on their toes
- Outside players move the ball side to side whilst they wait
- Middle Players run out of the inside box to receive from an outside player
- The outside player passes the ball to the central player who receives and plays back in two touches.
- After 30 seconds the players get 10 seconds to switch from outside to inside and inside to outside.
- The players then do the opposite job for 30 seconds
- Add competition by seeing who can do the most in the 30 second time slot
- Have a player in the middle, applying passive pressure, making it more game realistic
Progression
- Make the central area a 1v1 where the player receiving the ball can either bounce the ball straight back or open up and play to another outside player if the option is there.
(1) point for a bounce back and (2) points for finding another outside player, placing the focus on creating the space to receive seeing the full field where possible.
- Players use the same foot to control and pass
- Players use opposite feet to receive and pass
- Players use one touch to pass the ball back to outside players
- Players receive on an angle and look to play the ball to a different player than what they received from.
Coaches Emphasis
- Create an angle to receive
- Scan the field
- The first touch makes the 2nd playable
- Changes of speed and direction to create the space to receive
- INTENSITY
