Aim:
- Breaking lines and moving the ball to move the opponent in WE 1-2 for yellow, WE 2-3-4 for gray
Organization:
- Directional position play with defence, midfield, keeper
- Score by playing from one side to other
- In gray possession neutrals become a 6, 7, 11. 1 now defends the goal
Coaching Points:
- Main concept is field coverage, (1/3/4/6/8/10 on different vertical/horizontal lines, 2/5 on different horizontal lines)
- Get the ball from one side to the other
- Find penetrating passes (break lines)
- Open body
- Control and pass the ball with the inside of the top foot
- Play in least amount of touches possible
- If you dont have the ball get it back as fast as possible (THEY teach pressing and collective defending)
- Spread out when you get it back (THEY - WE)
- Play to vision (playing to the player who is looking forwards)
Progressions / Variations:
- Directional or bi-directional
- Scoring or not scoring on keeper/goal (add second goal for yellow team)
- Yellow team must target 8/10 turn or play another player in and then attack 2v1 on the goal (adding in the 6 in gray as a defender)
- Defence (gray) must pressure the ball when the 1/3/4 has possession (solution is 2 or 5) Two players must pressure high (solution is through the middle)
- 1/3/4 can or cannot play the 8/10 direct
