Finishing in tight areas ( phase of play)
1-4-4-2 (Blue) vs 1-5 3-2 with sweeper (red)
9 vs 9 including goalkeepers,
working with the Attacking team (Blue) who are attacking large goal,
managing defending team (Red) who are playing towards the mini goal.
To replicate finishing in tight areas we will encourage alot of dribbling into the box from our 7,11,9 &10.
we will try to create overloads in favour of the defending team by playing a sweeper formation. hopefully this will create the chaos in the box we are looking for. leaving the red team with less players up front will also aid in alot more forward runs into the box having.
if the desired objective dose not work we can add specific challenges such as....blue team can only shoot after at least 2 passes inside the 18yd area ect.

6 vs 6 with 2 neutral players (Green). The team in possesion (RED) can move anywhere inside the 18yrd area, including behind the red cones. Team out of possesion retreat to the defending lines (red cones), and and only move sideways on their line to defend.
really tight and chaotic so encourage 1-2 touch finishing.
Restarts from th gk.
neutral players can only use 1 touch when playing the ball back in.
alternate neutral players every so often
coaching points....
Challenge players to use a variety of finishing techniques, use disguise and limited backlift when shooting in tight areas. encourage side foot finishes for better control and accuracy.
Be alive to rebounds.
