Game

Setup: Half field with wide zones clearly marked. Two teams. Each team has an extra player in the wide zone.

Interval 1: Once a team plays the ball into the wide zone, they can send in one extra player. Teams play 7v7 in the central zone. Even teams..

Condition 1: Players in the wide zone cannot be defended

Challenge 1: Can your team perform 2 overlaps in 5 minutes?

Question 1: After 10 minutes of play... When overlapping player gets the ball in the wide zone, what opportunities does she have? Expecting cross, dribble to goal, draw a defender... Guide them towards the opportunity to cross.

Interval 2 Challenge: Can your team score two goals following a cross from the wide player two times? Note that a first touch finish is not required.

Q & C 2: Tactical learning. It is likely they did not score off a cross; this game will allow the defense to pack the box. See if they can figure out what / how to solve this challenge...

Interval 3: Same challenge as 2, see if the players can apply what they learned.
