Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): 5v5 +1 Break defensive line attacking game

Set Up: Area 30x40 split into 30x20 yrds, big goal with GK at 1 end, 2 target goals opposite end. 5v5 with F for team in possession. Play starts in the zone with target goals. 

Format: Attacking team look to move the ball & break into attacking zone with a through pass, runner breaks line for a finish, 1 Def can make recovery run to defend the goal. If defending team win the ball they attempt to score in target goals. Rotate after set time.

Key Points: Pass detail - weight accuracy & timing on passes into attacking zone, look to combine to break through defensive lines.

Type of passes - Wall passes, disguised passes into space for runners to break defensive compactness & create opportunities to move forward with ball.

Positioning on shoulders - Look to play on shoulder of def in order to create space to receive & play forward when situations present themselves,

Defending team - To press with aggression and speed as a unit to encourage the attackers to play with speed. Game pace
