Small Sided Game - Red Devil Rover
Organization: 3 teams of 4 players, each team occupies 1/3 of the field. Overall area is a 25yd x 30yd space. Each team occupies a 10yd x 25yd section of the field
Instruction: Outside-third teams attempt to pass the ball back and forth while middle third team defends against the cross-field passes. Passes must be at waist level or below. Progression: one defender from the middle third can follow the pass into the outside third team's area to add pressure on players.
Coaching Points: encourage 1) ball movement to create passing lanes, 2) quick touches 3) anticipate where to play ball before receiving it.
