Organisation/Instruction:- I will be coaching the blue team. The main focu area is outlined by white lines which will be yelllow markers, which contains the midfield 3 and 3 opposing midfielders, there are 2 fulbacks. The practice begins with the 'Server'(who replicates a CB) passes the ball into one of the fullbacks, who will pass into the area to a midfield player and will look to switch the ball.

To score a goal the attacking team need to switch the ball and dribble it up to the red zone.

If the defending team win the ball back (red) their aim is to work the ball back to the server. the defending team will participate in a man marking system.

Area: 20x20m.

Players: 3 v 3 in middle box(3 reds, 3 blues) a server and 2 wide players which is 9 players all together.

Equipment: Balls x 10, Bibs ( 2 colours 7 per set) Cones (white and reds) and Flat Markers.

Key Coaching Points:-

1) Can the full backs provide width in advanced areas, or come it play to create overload

2) The timing of the run from the full backs. (To feet/ in-front to run on to)

3) Switching play

Condition:-

The ball must be played into the midfield box.

Progression:-

1) Move to zonal if the man to man marking is not working. (If the Midfield 3 don't have any success)

2) Full backs have a maximum of two touch.

3) Include a number of passes also to score a goal as this will entice the defenders out so they we can create space that would be realistic to a game scenorio.

Technical/Tactical

Movement to create space for themselves and team members.

Angle of approach to receive the ball.

Passing and receiving techniques to retain possession.

Full backs when to come in to the area to create an overload.

Physical

High tempo.

Social

Communication between team members.

scenario 2 (man marking (5 mins)

scenario 2 is man marking defending.

In this scenario the players movement is very important.

Each players movement will take the defenders into a position so the switch to the opposite full back will be open for the over load.

In this scenario the players are open to do what they think is right.

If the defenders want to man mark the switch to the opposite fullback will be on if the defenders stop the switch the attacking team will have a spare man in midfield.
