Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
Practice is set for 10 players. Area size can beadapted depending on how the players cope. There is a large white coned area 35x27m. 2 large goals set up at each end for small sided game with cones placed for the wide channels. 4 cones placed just inside the channel on each side for gates used in technical practice. 4 mannequins placed in each half either side of gates. Players bibbed on arrival and spare footballs placed around the practice.

2. Mannequins will now be removed and replaced with defenders. Players will now play 1v1, once player has beaten the defender they will accelerate and dribble through the gates. Once through the gate they then pass to opposite team then become the defender. If the defender wins the ball they pass back to the group and the original attacker becomes the defender. Once defender is beaten they return to the line.
Mechanics of Turning
1. Eye on the ball
2. Decision, change of direction
3. Contact with surface (if required) or feint
4. Head up
5. Low centre of gravity (balance)
6. Change of direction
7. Acceleration

Small Sided Game:
Players will now play a 5v5 with 2 GK. Wide channels will be marked out, with only 1 attacker and 1 defender allowed in the channels at any 1 time.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
1. normal goal 1 point
2. 2 points when wide player beats defender in the channel
3. 3 points when wide player beats player in the channel then assists for a goal.
Progressions and Regressions:
Challenge for players to get the ball wide into the space to isolate defender and beat them 1v1.
Attackers only allowed in channels for 10 seconds at a time to create realism
If players are finding it hard to beat defender a mannequin can be used instead
The last progression will be to remove the zones and have free play
Learning outcomes:
1. Players to learn the mechanics of turning
2. Players to develope decision making skills when entering into a 1v1
3. Players to understand the certain skills needed beat a player in a 1v1 situation

Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
During the technical practice players will be set up in groups of 3 at each end of practice. first player in each group will start with a ball. Each player will dribble towards the mannequin and perform a skill, once past the mannequin they accelerate towards the gate and turn. Once first player turns at the gate second player will start. First player will head back meeting second player at the mannequin with both players performing a skill around mannequin. First player will then pass to third player.
