Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
In this session, we have 7 defenders (reds) and 5 attackers (blues), with 2 goals on the half way line either side of the centre circle, the defenders will have 10 seconds to score a goal.
Screen 1 will start with the ball feeder. I want the 2 centre mids deep but wide, and the striker to stretch the defence. Then the inverted wingers will come into place as the centre mids drop into space, this goes the wingers a chance to have a sharp explosive movement to make a dart inside field. Allowing them to receive the ball from the feeder and as they are coming in from the side, they will already be on the half turn. Meaning they will be ready to run at the defenders or pass to their striker, trying to cause a goal.
For screen 2, I want 1 winger to drop deep, taking the full back with them, leaving space for the striker to run into the ball. Then it will played to a centre mid who are deep, preferable opposite to the winger. The it would be a pass into the centre mid for him to clip a diagonal pass into the far corner, for the striker to run onto. Then they will push up the pitch creating options for him to either pass or dribble.
This would be a match day minus 5 session.

Technical making sure the correct movement is being used and the speed of their movement making the playing lines clear to the tam building up from the back that they can then transfer into a game, also making sure the right weight of pass is being used |
|
Tactical knowing where players will be moving too creating little patterns of play to help penetrate Lines of the defensive unit. this will give your players a greater understanding of what they will need to know |
|
Physical the physical work for this drill would be the defending team would have to touch the goal line and the team building from the back would have tl run and touch the half way line. this would be working on speed endurance this would be every time I low my whistle they will have to run. |
|
Psychological creating the picture in their brains before the move has started gathering a understanding of where they will need to be to help out their teammates but also you will know if somebody hasn't done the correct movement or the correct pass |
|
Social giving players instructions like man on turn or where to run this is because the middle of the pitch will be congested so they will need to know what's behind them or if your playing the full back can you tell them to turn out attack the space |
