Description

simple drill can be used as a warm up or a progression drill.

timings depend on the fluidity of the drill, if going good, do each sesson for 15 mins, have stretch in between . if its stop start obviously the session may be longer.

Screen 1 (30 mins)

Organisation : pass and follow

4x cones, can start with them being 10x10 apart and increase when you progress.

2x balls.

as many players around the gris aslong as you have equal numbers but 1 extra on each corner ( diagonal station).

Drill: Pass and follow

basic pass, recieve, open up with 1 touch then pass to the next player and follow your pass

can introduce 2 balls going around the grid depending on players capability with 1 ball.

Drill: Pass, Set, Diag

set up with the same number of players around the grid, with 2 extra players on the (diagonal stations) from each other.

pass forward to the player on station (B), player on station (B) sets the ball back to player (A) who then passes the ball diagonally to player (C) whilst player (B) times their run for the set back off player (C) to then pass to player (D), player (C) then times thier run and recieves the set back off player (D) then passed back to staion (A) and the cycle continues

can add an additional ball if the players are coping well with 1 ball.

COACHING POINTS:

movement off the cones ( dont be static)

timing of runs from each station

can you play 2 touch, 1 touch to open up, 1 touch to pass

weight of pass

communication

KEY:

Red cones = STATIONS

Black dotted lines = PASS/ES

Blue players are just the movement and pass where the RED PLAYERS will be/ make. ( its an example of the drill, didnt want to confuse you having loads of red players scatterd everywhere)
