u12 SAP 1v1 pressure from side/angle sesh

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Progression
- x2 grids operate simultaneously. 1st players rwb at pace and must beat pole 1v1 before turning sharply at final cone and attempting to finish in mini goal (non-stop process for 2 mins).
Step up: Now x1 defender enters area (recovering defender from side/angle) who must chase down ball carrier as soon as he approaches final cone to create a 1v1 (defender works 3 sets before swapping)- 1pt if he wins BP (he can then score in mini goal 2pts).
CP- change of pace to lose recovering defender, tight ball control to keep ball between hips and protect it from recovering defender, If defender is able to recover, can ball carrier then seek to get him off balance with good changes of direction/1v1 skill set to score (note- don't need to beast defender in tis situation- can you create space to finish via good use of body faints).

(2) Skill Training
Dynamic 3v2 to 4v3 attacking overload/transition game
Blue seek to score asap with 3v2 attacking overload (1pt for goal). If blue score or when ball goes out x2 wide jokers enter area (without ball)- keeper feeds new ball in to ignite 4v3 counter attack. If reds complete attack (2pts) or if ball goes out both teams reset. If red can win ball when it is 3v2- both wide players will still enter area to create 4v3 PT #General- Can you seek to play forward pass directly/or slightly in front of wide player to ignite fast counter attack and thus to create goal scoring chance Cue- As soon as you regain BP.
Both teams swap roles after 5 mins.
General Script: Can we attack at pace (game realism) to prevent defenders from recovering,
can we maximise use of attacking overload (find spear player in an attacking overload), reaction to both transition moments (recover at pace/seek to make fast support run to help team break forward).
PT #Winger (in transition): can you immediately seek to receive forward/angled pass on shoulder of closest defender (in-line and level) before attempting to create a goal scoring chance. Cue- As soon as team regains BP and can play forward.
PT #General: Can closest defender to ball recover on an angle and at a sprint to pressure ball carrier while delaying and getting goal side Cue- As soon as BP is lost and wide players enter game.
Step up: Now wide player enters area with ball (1 wide player still enter without ball) can seeks to immediately score after ball goes out.
PT #Winger/attacking mid: Can you drive with ball at pace and be direct while protecting ball with good awareness and body faints Cue- As soon as cued to enter area and when recovering defender get tight to you.

(3) Skill Game
Intense cage game wide x2 wide zones and wide jokers (operate up and down for both teams).
- 4V4+Keepers and x2 wide jokers. To begin with wide jokers cannot enter main area and must provide outlet around press before seeking to delivery cross/cutback and/or killer pass to teammates making forward runs into goal scoring areas.
Step up- Wide jokers can enter area and can score but only after receiving in wide zone (wide joker without ball can also enter area and make forward run towards back zone but must get back into wide zone if team losses BP. .
PT Wide Players- In BP can you enter area at pace and be direct before setting up a teammate or attempting to create a goal scoring chance for yourself. Cue- When you receive pass facing forward with space in front of you to attack.
CP- Exploiting numerical advantage in BP with effective use of wide jokers who operate up and down for team in BP
Observe ability of ball carrier to identify when he is being pressured from side and to see what decisions he makes (early pass away from pressure/body faint etc.).

Aspect- Dealing with a recovering defender pressuring you from an angle/side
Objective- Players (wingers/#10/#9) are capable of protecting the ball while driving with it to deal with a defender recovering on an angle
Key Principles: Use of body faint/change of direction/pace/sharp turn to lose defender, dribbling with head up (spacial awareness), seeking to break forward at pace during (+) transition .
(1) Skill Intro
A) - first 4 players approach closest central cone are to turn sharply before passing to next player waiting in next group (clockwise then anti-clockwise).
B) Run the gauntlet style warm up game - x4 defenders (2 each side) enter area as players inside seek to get ball to other side (defenders swap after 3 sets)- if ball is kicked out you become a defender.
