Session Objectives
What? - Improve the team's ability to play into the final third.
When? - When the team has possession in the middle third.
Where? - Middle to final third.
Who? - Focus group: 7,9,10,11
Why? - To create effective penetration into the final third.
Team Tactical Principles
1. Spread out.
2. Pass or dribble forward when possible or keep the ball.
3. Support the attack.
4. Create a 2v1 or a 1v1.
5. Vary the way of running and try to get behind/between the defensive line(s) of the opponent.

SET UP:
3 Teams of 5, set of balls, pitch split into thirds with middle shaded area
TOTAL DURATION:
18 minutes 3 rounds of 4 min. / 2 mins recovery/coaching points (in between each round)
INTENSITY: Hard
DESCRIPTION:
- 5 players in each zone, middle shaded area is defensive area wherin a maximum of 3 DF can enter end zones to intercept/tackle, end zones, players must complete at least 2 passes before attempting penetrating pass to opposite end zone. End zone players cannot vacate their zones
NO OVER HEAD. WHICH DEFENSIVE UNIT CAN KEEP THE LOWEST SCORE FOR THEIR 4 MINUTES.
Progression after 2 minutes:- End zone Players can NOW penetrate through middle third & into final zone with a dribble or mixture of dribble/pass. Opposite end zone players can decide to enter middle zone to create chaos or wall pass.
COACHING POINTS:
- Decision making: dribble or pass
- Movement off the ball by all players
- reading triggers of when to check in or away
- Ability to provide width
- awareness of space/numbers
- type of pass

SET UP: half pitch, goals, balls, cones, 14/15 players
TOTAL DURATION: 18 minutes
3 rounds of 4 min. / 2 mins recovery (in between each round)
INTENSITY: Hard
DESCRIPTION:
- 1v1 in each endzone and 4v4 + N in the middle zone if needed.
- Players look to connect 2 passes before looking to penetrate into final zone with a pass or dribble.
- maximum of 3 attackers & defenders can join final zone for a 4v4.
COACHING POINTS:
- Decision making: dribble or pass
- Movement of the #9 by reading cues of when to check in or away
- Ability to provide width by #7 or #11
- Runs to get into the box

OBJECTIVE
1-2 Touch, Player 1 passes ball 1 into Centre Player and follows run into centre and adjusts body position to receive ball 2 from Player 4. Meanwhile, P2 has passed ball 1 to P3 and follows his run. P1 receives and passes ball 2 out to P5.
