Players inside have 60 seconds to receive as many throw- ins as possible then teams switch

Must receive with chest or thigh then play ball back

Coaching Points/Questions

Liverpool Rondo (20 mins)

Organization:

3 teams of 3

22x16.

6v3

8x2 min rd (rotate roles every 2 rounds)

 Coach puts balls in quickly from the side, possession always goes to the 6.

Instructions: Short segments, high intensity. The 6 score by putting 8 passes together consecutively and the the 3 score by winning the ball and scoring in small sided goal.

Coaching Points:

  • 1st defender - pressure on the ball (cut side to force one way)
  • 2nd defender - read cues and connect to try intercept pass/win the ball
  • 3rd defender - connect with the group to force play one way
  • Purpose - win the ball and score

On the ball:

  • Efficient ball movement (catch and play)
  • Have purpose to break the press (through/around)

Reaction to counter press - 100 to 70 - secure the ball

Progression:

  • Team in possession can score after completing 7 passes

Instructions:

- 3v3 game with GK's

- Resting group of 3 act as bounce players on endlines on one touch

- When a ball leaves play, new ball is played in by coach in air for players to receive

- Play 3 minutes then rotate resting team and gk's
