Warm Up
10 Minutes
Equipment Needed: Bibs, Cones, Balls
Game: Fox Catcher
Game 1: Play for 1 minute. Players try to get the balls from the other side by running, picking ball up, and bring back to their side. Team with the most balls at the end wins.
Progression: Players can tag the other team if they have a ball in their hand to get the ball back.
Coaching Points: Teach all in the form of questions
Players must run with their head up to see where defenders are (Where should you be looking when you are running?)
Players must change direction to avoid defenders (Who are you trying to stay away from?)
Players must help their teammates (How do you help your teammates?)
Coaching Points:
Players should take smaller touches to keep the ball under control
Players need to be able to turn with the ball, stopping it with the inside or bottom of the foot.
Game 2: Players now must dribble the ball back.

Running With The Ball to score
15 Minutes
Equipment Needed: cones, balls
Game: Off to the races!
You can use the same 20x20 grid as the warm up.
All players with a ball.
Players are lined up with a ball. On coaches command, they race to see who can score first.
Round 1: dribble using any surface
Round 2: dribble using only the laces - working on speed
Round 3: dribble using only the inside of foot - working on close control
Round 4: dribble using only the sole (bottom of foot)
Progression: Now we will add a defender. 1 player now is trying to stop the rest from scoring. If the defender wins it, they become the attacker and the player who loses the ball becomes the defender.

Changing Direction
10 Minute Activity
Equipment Needed: Cones, Balls
20x20 Grid with smaller 5x5 grid in the middle
Players perform different tasks dribbling around the cone:
Example:
1. Dribble around the cone, dribble back, stop ball for teammate x 3
2. Player dribbles around the cone, on the way back, perform 2 pull backs (turn, turn) then dribbles back to teammate. Stops ball for teammate x 3.
3. Player A dribbles out to cone, must turn in complete circle around cone, dribble backs, stops ball for teammate x 3.
Coaching Points:
Baby touches - keep ball close and under control
Head up - looking around
Better to go slow with more control than fast with no control
3.

Game
15 Minutes
Final 10-15 minutes of each session we will end with a 4v4 game to let them have fun. There should be minimal coaching going on, other than simple reminders of what we have worked on through the day, and basic knowledge of team shape.
We will set them up in a diamond shape.
