Organization:
Set up the practice with 3 mini goals at the half.
Play 9 vs. 9
Activity:
The circle team start with the ball from a ball played by the coach which represents a giveaway from the triangle team. Circle tam recovers the ball and triangle team presses and attempts to regain possession and score.
Keep score.
Coaching Points:
Defenders must have a positive attitude to press the opposition the moment the ball is played, with the nearest player pressing first.
Defenders must identify where there is danger on the field when the ball is recovered by the circle team and react to it quickly by either closing down the ball, recovering into spaces that could be exploited, or tracking runners.
The team out of possession shift and compact making the pitch as small as possible forcing the play into areas where we have more defenders. This must be done quickly to prevent the attackers from having time and space.

Organisation:
Set up the area shown in the practice diagram. The playing area will be split into a right and left channel with a halfway line creating four 10x10 boxes, position mini-goals in the area's top right and bottom left corners.
The players will be split into two teams of six and both teams can only attack the channel directly in front of them.
If the team in possession crosses into the other team's channel, the ball will be classed as dead and a new pair will attack. If a defending pair win back possession they must move the ball into their own channel within 5 seconds or the ball will also be classed as dead.
Activity:
The practice will start with two attacking players attacking unopposed towards the goal directly in front of them, as soon as the attackers attempt to score in the mini-goal, two players on the opposite side of the grid will drive into the playing area with a ball and attempt to score in the goal directly in front of them creating a 2v2 situation.
The two defending players must react quickly to counter-press to stop the attackers from progressing the ball out of the first box. The session runs continuously with teams attacking in waves.
Coaching Points:
As soon as an attacking pair enters the area, the defenders must look to get immediate pressure on the player with the ball with the closest defender to the ball pressing aggressively.
The defender must look to get in line with the ball and the goal they are defending to prevent forward passes, forward runs with the ball and shots.
The defenders must look to get across as quickly as possible and apply pressure to the player with the ball, preventing forward play and forcing them to put their head down and deal with the ball.
