SETUP:

Split the pitch up into thirds with flat markers
Defending team: 2-1-1
2 in third 1
1 in third 2
1 in third 3
Attacking team: 2-1-1
2 in third 3

Players are fixed in their thirds
1 coach next to the goals with set off balls and 1 coach at the half way line with a set of balls
PRACTICE:
2 kick offs -
KO 1 - play out from the back. Play 5 times.
To score a goal the defending team must play out from the back, through all thirds and make a pass to the coach near the half way line. The attacking team must try and steal the ball - then play forward to try and score in the goal. If the ball goes out of play, the team that kicked the ball out either lose a goal or give a goal to the other team.
The team with the ball can move 1 player into the next third - this is to promote supporting play, team work and communication. If they lose the ball they must instantly run back to their designated third.
The coach next to the keeper gives him / her a ball. The keeper must make a pass to the 1 of the defenders. They can only move up one third - this is to enable them to hold position and remain in an area that supports a transition / lost ball.
The defender can either pass the ball or run the ball into the next third - leaving one defender in third 1 and creating an overload in in third 2.
The defender can only move up one third, so he / she can now pass to the midfielder or forward to the attacker. The midfielder can move up to the final third to support the attacker.
If they lose the ball they must run back to their thirds instantly - they are not allowed to touch the ball until in the correct zone
KO 2 - forward attack. Play 5 times
To score a goal the attacking team must play from the half way line, through all thirds and score passed the keeper. The defending team must try and steal the ball - then play forward to try and and make a pass to the coach. If the ball goes out of play, the team that kicked the ball out either lose a goal or give a goal to the other team.
The team with the ball can move 1 player into the next third - this is to promote supporting play, team work and communication. If they lose the ball they must instantly run back to their designated third.
The coach at the half way line passes the ball to the back players. The player must look to play up through the next third, by dribbling or passing. The forward 'defending' player looks to slow play, screen passes or make a tackle at the right time. The attacking player can only move up one third, this creates an overload in midfield and enables them to hold position and remain in an area that supports a transition / lost ball.
If they lose the ball they must run back to their thirds instantly - they are not allowed to touch the ball until in the correct zone
After all the balls have been used swap the teams around.
