The size of the area - 40 yards x 60 yards. There will be two teams (both with GKs) 9 vs 9, Red ( 4,3,1) and Blue (2, 4, 2). The only coach the Blue team to achieve task set but also coach reds to achieve their guided learning etc.
The session will always restart with the Red GK so make sure there are plenty of balls in his/her goal. It's a normal game environment, the reds are looking to score in the opposite goal, if the blues win possession they will counter and look to score a goal also.
Allow them to get used to the area they are working in, this will talk about 4/5 attacks before the coach can step in. Looking at the coaching points below to progress the session further and apply knowledge to what we as coach witnesses.
Coaching Points:
- How does the GK distribute the ball? (not always kicking the ball)
- Quality of the pass/receiving skills
- Ability to progress forward into space
- Looking to use flanks with creative movement also, Overlaps/ Underlaps also inside offers from CM and looking to switch play or cross the ball.
- Plenty of success and focus on the attacking options (good or bad?)
- Retaining possession and looking to penetrate play once found a 'gap'
- Players dropping in when a player pushes out of position
- CMs taking ownership to get crosses in
- Preferred foot, can we cut back or inwards
-CM to receive on a GK, not always full back to receive.

Moving into the game look at letting players taking leadership.
Let them organise their team (blue team only)
Reds need to set up in a 3,4,1 formation and look at progressing forward with width and into the flanks. Can the reds look to achieve good game management and focus on attacking when only needing to attack?
Link everything we carried out in the previous drill and can we progress forward with the ball early?

For cool down, this is where the discussion should take place.
This is just a simple passing drill with applied creativity.
Players will receive the ball, dribble with the ball and perform a skill before giving the next player.
Have a number of lines depending on the number of players, but remember its a cool down so doesn't need to be high intensity.

Players are to stand between the cones to start the warm-up.
They will be listening to the instructions from the coach, it may also help if the coach has a whistle to test the reactions of the players and get them engaging in play.
Coaches Instruction:
- In and out the cones
- Zig Zags (Sidesteps)
- Knee overs
- Touch flag on the whistle only
- Bunny Hops then sprint 3 yards out
