Football/Soccer Session (Beginner): 1v1 invisible wall

1v1 invisible wall (15 mins)

1v1 invisible wall. Players start outside of the cones. Attackers on right side with the ball, defenders on the left side. The shaded zone shows the safe zone at the start where the attacker can't be tackled. After the attacker has past the first cone, the defender can tackle them when they try to dribble under control through either gate now. The attacker can then dribble through the far gate for 1 point, change direction and go through either gate for 3 or use an inside cut to go through either gate for 5 points. Attackers CAN NOT turn and face defenders at any point. Switch roles after 2 mins. Switch side that ball starts on after one round.

Instruction points :

- pigeon-toed dribble to move quickly under close control (get defender moving to use momentum against them)

- change of direction/change of pace

- eyes up to recognize if defender is cheating

- change of direction as an act of deception
