This drill is best used for teaching players to scan, and take their time to pick the correct pass. This drill can work with all ages U9 and up
ORGANIZATION:
- 2 mini goals
- At least 1 football
- Bibs to make 3 teams
- Can work with 6, 9, or 12 players split into 3 even teams (blue, red, black shown above)
- Playing area marked by 18yd box, if lines are faded use cones to mark the area.
EXPLAINATION:
- 3 even teams will play kings court inside the 18yd box. The extra team will have 2 players on the outside, and 1 in the middle to serve as neutral players.
- All players are restricted to the following rules: you cannot tackle other players, and you cannot move with the ball
- Defending players must stay at least 2ft away from player with the ball. Defenders can only win the ball via interceptions
- KINGS COURT: the team that scores stays on(blue), the loser becomes the extra team(red), the extra team plays winner(black)
PROGRESSIONS:
- Make teams complete x amount of passes before they can shoot on goal
- Manipulate playing area to be wider, longer, or just larger altogether
- Allow players to move with ball BUT limit players touches
